    Executive Director

    Nicole is a steadfast advocate for prison reform, deeply versed in the intricacies of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Her paralegal expertise fuels her efforts to support and reform a system that affects countless individuals and their families.     Outreach Director

    Wendy, with a career in healthcare spanning over 3 decades, is dedicated to aiding the less fortunate. Her nurturing spirit is constantly reflected, consistently placing the needs of others at the forefront. With a generosity that knows no bounds, Wendy is always ready to extend a helping hand, offering her support to those facing hardship. Her actions have made her a cherished figure among colleagues and patients alike, reinforcing her commitment to making a positive impact.

  • Dr. Katherine McLachlan

    Direct of Mental Health

    Dr. McLachlan holds a Doctorate in Psychology and extensive experience working in psychiatric hospitals, juvenile settings, and court systems. As the Director of Mental Health, she has devoted her career to helping individuals impacted by mental health and justice-related challenges. Known for her deeply empathic approach, Dr. McLachlan is passionate about supporting those often overlooked by the system. Her work has focused on rehabilitation, advocacy, and providing compassionate care.

    Creative Assistant

    As a photographer, cinematographer, and visual storyteller, Makenna captures the raw emotion, grief, and humanity behind every moment. Deeply artistic and endlessly creative, she has a passion for documenting real life through honest, meaningful imagery. Her first film, Broken Systems, Lost Sons, follows the heartbreaking story of a 15-year-old boy whose life was tragically taken, while documenting the experiences of his grieving family as they navigate loss, injustice, and the fight for healing.

    Psychology Intern

    Kamari is a Psychology major at Xavier University of Louisiana from Cleveland, Ohio. She is passionate about understanding people and helping them navigate life’s challenges through empathy, awareness, and access to mental health resources. Kamari’s dedication to mental health stems from her belief that everyone deserves support and the opportunity to thrive. She aspires to work in counseling, community outreach, or mental health advocacy—empowering others to overcome obstacles and build fulfilling lives.

  • Erica Walden

    Political Science Intern

    Erica Walden is a first-generation Political Science student at Xavier University of Louisiana from South Jersey. She serves as a Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention Health Educator, an Associate Justice on the Judicial Council, and Secretary of the Pre-Law Society. Erica aspires to become an attorney dedicated to advocating for individuals with mental health challenges, trauma histories, or those who are otherwise disadvantaged. She brings a strong commitment to justice and equity through her work with Hope Dealers.

    Political Science Pre-Law Intern

    Kavien is a first-generation college student from Houston, Texas, currently attending Xavier University, where he is majoring in Political Science with double minors in African American Diaspora Studies and Education. Passionate about racial advocacy, justice, and community empowerment, he aspires to become a criminal defense attorney before later transitioning into politics. Driven by a desire to create meaningful change, Kavien is committed to using law, education, and public policy to advocate for underserved and marginalized communities.

    Social Work Intern

    Madeline is a Bachelor of Social Work student at Auburn University. She is passionate about supporting individuals within vulnerable populations and is pursuing a career focused on improving outcomes within the criminal justice and healthcare systems.     Theresa is a trauma-informed counselor completing her Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from International University.     Olivia is an undergraduate intern from Xavier University of Louisiana with aspirations to earn a Ph.D. in School Psychology or Clinical Child Psychology. Her professional goals include pursuing policy and advocacy work within public school systems across the South and supporting juvenile justice programs by expanding access to mental health resources. Olivia is passionate about creative expression, crafting, and helping children build confidence and thrive.

    Sociology Intern

    Deborah is a Sociology major at Xavier University of Louisiana with a concentration in Health, Society, and Medicine. Originally from Irvington, New Jersey, she is passionate about social justice and mental health advocacy. Deborah aspires to become a Pediatric Social Worker in a hospital setting, where she can support children and families in need of care and compassion. Through her internship with Hope Dealers Prison and Reform, she is gaining hands-on experience in community outreach and rehabilitation, contributing to efforts that promote restorative justice and empowerment.
