    Executive Director

    Nicole is a steadfast advocate for prison reform, deeply versed in the intricacies of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Her paralegal expertise fuels her efforts to support and reform a system that affects countless individuals and their families. Driven by a profound commitment to justice, Nicole's advocacy work tirelessly champions the rights of the incarcerated, making her a pivotal figure in the ongoing fight for a more equitable correctional system.

    Outreach Director

    Wendy, with a career in healthcare spanning over 3 decades, is dedicated to aiding the less fortunate. Her nurturing spirit is constantly reflected, consistently placing the needs of others at the forefront. With a generosity that knows no bounds, Wendy is always ready to extend a helping hand, offering her support to those facing hardship. Her actions have made her a cherished figure among colleagues and patients alike, reinforcing her commitment to making a positive impact.

  • Dr. Katherine McLachlan

    Director of Mental Health

    Dr. McLachlan is a dedicated mental health advocate with a deep commitment to social justice reform. With a doctorate in clinical psychology, she has worked in forensic units, juvenile courts, and psychiatric hospitals, bringing empathy and expertise to the most vulnerable populations. Passionate about bridging the gap between mental health and the justice system, Dr. McLachlan strives to ensure that those impacted by incarceration receive the care they deserve.

  • Jean Malveda

    Administrative Lead

    Jean is an integral member of the team, where she combines her exceptional administrative skills with her passion for supporting psychological evaluations. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficiency, Jean assists with psychological evaluations, providing crucial support to our psychologist. Her involvement in these evaluations highlights her dedication to understanding the mental health needs and advocating for their well-being. Her work is essential to the project's success.

  • Frederick Wehle

    Program Manager

    Frederick Wehle serves as the Program Administrator for Paws To Hope and Youth Coordinator for Pathways to Promise. With Paws To Hope, our therapy dog program, he oversees animal-assisted therapy operations, guiding volunteers and ensuring each visit fosters connection and calm. Through Pathways to Promise, our mentoring program, he supports justice-involved youth with trauma-informed care and life skills development. He is also an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights within the prison system.

  • Monnica Kumaresan

    Clinical Support & Personal Growth Facilitator

    Monnica is a dedicated volunteer at Hope Dealers, passionate about mental health and well-being. She supports individuals on their journey of personal growth and healing, finding her work incredibly rewarding. With a keen interest in both educational and forensic psychology, Monnica is excited to continue learning and growing in her volunteering role at Hope Dealers. Her commitment to making a positive impact drives her to explore innovative ways to support and empower those affected by the criminal justice system.

  • Olivia Bottcher

    Clinical Support & Mentorship Facilitator

    Olivia is completing her final year at the University of Tampa, where she is studying Psychology and Criminology. She plays a vital role in leading DBT-based lessons, in addition to providing youth mentoring and assistance with assessments. Olivia approaches her work with a down-to-earth attitude and a genuine eagerness to help, which allows her to build trust and meaningful connections with participants. She is valued for her ability to create a supportive environment that fosters growth and resilience.

    Data & Operations Assistant

    Nikola is a senior Global Business student at the University of South Florida. She is passionate about leveraging her studies and technical skills to create meaningful change in the world, with a particular focus on social justice and environmental conservation. With a strong background in organization, management, and teamwork, Nikola is committed to using her abilities to help Hope Dealers expand its impact and reach a broader audience.  She believes in the power of reform to transform communities.

    Sober Living Coordinator

    Salinda Hamilton brings over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health to the Hope Dealers team. She has a strong background in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and is dedicated to helping people build the skills and confidence they need to thrive. Salinda’s wealth of knowledge and compassionate approach make her an invaluable resource, both to the team and to the participants she serves.

  • Olivia Bowie

    Psychology Intern

    Olivia is an undergraduate intern from Xavier University of Louisiana with aspirations to earn a Ph.D. in School Psychology or Clinical Child Psychology. Her professional goals include pursuing policy and advocacy work within public school systems across the South and supporting juvenile justice programs by expanding access to mental health resources. Olivia is passionate about creative expression, crafting, and helping children build confidence and thrive.

  • Erica Walden

    Political Science Intern

    Erica Walden is a first-generation Political Science student at Xavier University of Louisiana from South Jersey. She serves as a Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention Health Educator, an Associate Justice on the Judicial Council, and Secretary of the Pre-Law Society. Erica aspires to become an attorney dedicated to advocating for individuals with mental health challenges, trauma histories, or those who are otherwise disadvantaged. She brings a strong commitment to justice and equity through her work with Hope Dealers.

  • Kamari Whitsett

    Psychology Intern

    Kamari is a Psychology major at Xavier University of Louisiana from Cleveland, Ohio. She is passionate about understanding people and helping them navigate life’s challenges through empathy, awareness, and access to mental health resources. Kamari’s dedication to mental health stems from her belief that everyone deserves support and the opportunity to thrive. She aspires to work in counseling, community outreach, or mental health advocacy—empowering others to overcome obstacles and build fulfilling lives.

  • Kamiya Manley

    Crime and Social Justice Intern

    Kamiya is a Crime and Social Justice major at Xavier University of Louisiana from Houston, Texas. She plans to continue her education at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Driven by a deep interest in understanding and reforming criminalized behaviors, Kamiya aspires to become an attorney who advocates for fair treatment and justice for marginalized individuals. Her long-term goal is to establish her own practice focused on transforming how society perceives and supports those often misunderstood.

  • Deborah Emile

    Sociology Intern

    Deborah is a Sociology major at Xavier University of Louisiana with a concentration in Health, Society, and Medicine. Originally from Irvington, New Jersey, she is passionate about social justice and mental health advocacy. Deborah aspires to become a Pediatric Social Worker in a hospital setting, where she can support children and families in need of care and compassion. Through her internship with Hope Dealers Prison and Reform, she is gaining hands-on experience in community outreach and rehabilitation, contributing to efforts that promote restorative justice and empowerment.

    Theresa is a trauma-informed counselor completing her Master’s degree in Applied Psychology from International University.
